A pooch may hug your legs and bury its head in your feet if it feels scared or worried on certain occasions, such as while going to the vet. At most veterinary appointments, the same situation occurs again. Sarge, my Welsh Springer Spaniel, was a wonderful pooch who was obedient and well-trained, but Dr. Burch recalls that whenever Sarge had to visit the vet for a checkup, he would get nervous. He would paw at my feet with his front paws as he sat between my knees, panting and shedding. Then he would back up. It wouldn’t take long for the panting to stop.
